9 Years Later

December 19, 2006, who knew that sexy man that walked in the bar would be the one I want to spend the rest of my life with? Who knew he would make an awesome friend, provider, companion and father? Who knew he would encourage me and watch me grow? Who knew he would give me the best gift I could ever ask for, motherhood?

Honestly, on that night I had no idea. I just wanted to talk to you. Find out your name, line of work, what you like to do for fun. I was so happy when you sat next to me, I tried to play it cool. I got on your nerves that night! You were not out to socialize, just getting over a long day. I was determined for us to talk, Guess what?! You left with my number, even called me the next day!

Now here we are, nine years later with a beautiful baby girl and life I wouldn’t trade for all the money in the world.
Thanks for finally talking to me that night, it literally changed my life forever.

I love you more than words can express. Happy Anniversary!

7 Things…I Learned This Week

by | 7 Things I Learned This Week

  1. {Small Rant Alert} People don’t give a s***, even family. It’s like no regard for the fact that I’m 7 months pregnant and on bed rest. I’m still expected to make all events and please everyone else?! Nope! Those days went out the window when the doc said “you’ll be on bed rest”. I know it’s wrong but I hope an inconsiderate person walks in my shoes one day and feels what I feel. {Small Rant Over}
  2. Babies R Us offers 10% cash back on all purchases made from your baby registry, even the purchases you make! So yes, if you receive an invitation to our baby shower there will be pricey items listed, don’t be alarmed, I want my 10% back.
  3. Seen on | Not sure of the source, cannot take creditI’ve been re-learning that “I love you” comes many ways. I first saw this about a year ago and it blew my mind! I get a bit annoyed sometimes when people tell me what to do, I know, I need to work on it. But anyhoo, I hear this over and over again in my head and really calms my nerves when I’m usually quick to be annoyed. Especially these days being on bed rest B will always say “watch your step” or “turn on the light” and I’m instantly reminded that’s one of the ways he’s saying I love y’all.
  4. can be a blessing or a pain in the a**. The lady that made our baby shower invites – BLESSING! The dude I asked to make a logo for the blog – PAIN IN THE A**!
  5. Those electric carts at Target (you know the ones you ride in) are pretty cool. And I’m a pretty good driver in them. I received all kind of praise from the ladies in line when I paralleled park that joint (pats self on back).
  6. Baby products have changed! I swear I felt like a Flintstone in a Jetson’s world. We went to Babies R Us to register, don’t worry, I didn’t walk around, B pushed me in a wheelchair. Then we went to Target to do a second registry, which is how I came to the conclusion on #6. Anyhoo, this stuff is so futuristic now, and pricey! I was shocked! Car seat bases are $70?! Are you kidding me?! Really?! I remember paying like $20 for a base…like 10 years ago, but still.
  7. Just this morning we realized we could be physical (as in actually holding our baby) parents in as little as 7 weeks! OMG! Once again, MIND BLOWN! The docs keep saying “at 36 weeks it’s ok to give birth, no worries”. Now, the due date is 11 weeks away, still soon but not as soon as 7 weeks away. What are we gonna do?! And if baby girl does arrive in 7 weeks, she’ll be a Leo, just like us. That scares and excites me at the same time.

I think that about wraps it up. I learned other stuff related to blogging but I don’t wanna bore you too much. Let me know what you learned this week and if I’m the only one that thinks baby stuff is outta this world.

Your First Father’s Day

by | Happy Father's Day to the BEST Daddy ever!

Although our baby girl isn’t here yet you’re already thee most awesome daddy there is! From the way you talk and sing to her to the the long hours you put in to make sure she has all she needs when she arrives. I cannot wait for you too to meet!

Even better, she knows you’re her daddy and she loves you just as much as you love her. I love how she gets so excited to hear your voice. And how she calms down when you rub my belly. Seeing you two interact makes me love you more each day…in addition to other things, like you just being you.

I’m so happy you’re her daddy. No one else could love her as much as you do.

Happy Father’s Day!

Has Pinterest Failed Me?

Pinterest, have you failed me?

Me: Hi, I’m Dae, and I’m a Pinterest addict.

Support Group: Hi Dae!

Like most women these days I’ve fallen victim to into the lure of millions of high quality photos all on one website known as Now don’t get me wrong, Pinterest is pretty much the new google when searching for recipes and D.I.Y. projects but have you ever felt like it failed you? Or better yet, overwhelmed you?

I’m planning my baby shower and in need of some ideas for decoration. Seeing as how it’s 2015 I naturally ran right over to Pinterest. There are oodles and oodles of ideas there, and tons of them look great. But is it too much? I’m having such a hard time reaching a decision. Every time I settle on one I find something else just as girly and fabulous. I’m in a vicious cycle.

My baby shower isn’t until late July (about 10 weeks away) but I want to at least have my ideas lined up so I can get on top of things. What if I need to make centerpieces? Or order favors from a shop owner on Etsy? These things take time.

So here I am at a lost and after a week of searching and pinning mostly baby shower ideas I still don’t know what to do. I’m suffering from decoration overload. Please help!

Hey, if you a few minutes stop by my Baby Shower board on Pinterest and cast a vote for your ideas in the comments below.

Thanks bunches!
